Game Time
- Northern Colorado (2-1, 0-1 Big Sky) plays host to Weber State (1-2, 0-0 Big Sky) for the first time since 2012 in the Bears Big Sky home opener. UNC is 0-3 against WSU all-time at home, but are looking to turn things around after a tough loss at Southern Utah last weekend. Jacob Knipp Era
- After seeing action in the past two games, redshirt freshman QB Jacob Knipp was named the starter on the Monday of game week against Weber State. Knipp's season total reads, 27-of-45 with three INTs and one touchdown pass, totaling 334 passing yards.
Welcome Back
- Both redshirt running back Trae Riek and junior defensive lineman Mikhail Dubose both return to the starting lineup for Northern Colorado after missing last week with injuries.
Nottingham in September
- Head coach Earnest Collins Jr. is 3-5 all-time in the month of September in Greeley with most recent win coming in this season's opener against Western State. UNC hung on to take the game, 42-34.
The Riddler
- Redshirt sophomore linebacker James Riddle leads the defense in tackles so far this season. He's produced 5 solo tackles and 25 assisted tackles, for 30 total, averaging 10.0 tackles a game.
Last Time Against The Wildcats
- Costly turnovers made all the difference for the Northern Colorado the last time they played Weber State on Nov. 15, 2014. The Bears totaled three fumbles and an interception in the, 34-21 loss in Ogden.
On This Day
- UNC is sitting even on games played on Sept. 26. They boast a 5-5 record. The last time they engaged an opponent on the date was 2009, falling to Montana State 25-7. The last victory on Sept. 26 came in 1998 defeating St. Cloud State on the road, 35-13.
Touchdown-less
- Northern Colorado was held out of the end zone last weekend at Southern Utah in the 30-3 loss. That was the first time in 35 games the Bears hadn't scored a TD. The last time that happened was in the 2012 season at Utah. UNC fell 41-0 in Salt Lake City.
Caliente
- It looks to be a hot one for the 1:35 p.m. kickoff. Forecasts show the high for the day is 90 degrees and sunny with a minimal 10% chance of rain.
Vamos Osos
- In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month UNC athletics is hosting its inaugural Hispanic Heritage game, Vamos Osos during Saturday's game at Weber State. There will be traditional Hispanic food, raffle prizes and giveaways, along with local Hispanic vendors in the tailgating area at Fan Fest.
Too Many Turnovers
- Northern Colorado coughed up a season-high six turnovers in last Saturday's Big Sky Opener at Southern Utah. UNC threw away 5 INTs, two from Jon Newsom and three from Jacob Knipp. UNC also recorded a fumble, which came from senior wide out Sean Leslie. All six turnovers cost the team 17 points, leading to a 30-3 loss.
Ma, I'm on TV
- This Saturday's contest will be televised by Comcast Sports. Comcast Entertainment TV (CET) is carried exclusively on XFINITY service across Colorado on Channel 900 (HD) and 105 (SD) in the Denver and Colorado Springs DMAs. Roughly, 800,000 subscribers have access to CET from Fort Collins/Greeley in the north to Pueblo in the south along the Front Range. CET can also be seen in mountain towns such as Vail, Aspen, and Steamboat Springs.
New Territory
- It the Bears win against Weber State it'll be the first time in Coach Collins' tenure that he will have finished the month of September with a winning record.
Big Guys Up Front
- The offensive line has shown drastic improvement through the first three games of the season. They have only given up three sacks on the season. At this point in 2014, the o-line had already given up nine sacks.
