@UNCBearsTennis Drops Close Match to Weber

OGDEN, Utah. - The Northern a Colorado tennis team headed to Weber State today looking for its fifth win in a row and a victory to close out the conference season.UNC drew first blood winning the doubles point, but could only muster two singles wins, dropping the match 4-3.
"The team showed up to compete hard today," said head coach Brenda Vlasak. "I knew it was going to be a tough match and the outcome could've gone either way. We played well and fought hard and unfortunately the outcome did not go our way."
The doubles duo of Chrissie Hoolahan and Lindsey Bennet increased their winning streak to four matches helping the Bears capture the doubles point, defeating Romy Dodd-Stephens/Dominique Beauvais, 6-2.
Grabbing the other doubles win were Hilary Walters-West and Marissa Baca defeating Lauren Schulte and Carly Lloyd, 6-0. It was the duo's ninth win on the year at #3 doubles.
On the singles side, Lindsey Bennet and Baca grabbed the only singles wins for the Bears.
Bennet faced off against Devi Hasan at #5 singles, capturing her first conference win on the year, 6-2, 7-5.
Baca made quick work of Emily Tanner for her ninth singles win on the year, winning 6-4, 6-1.
Northern Colorado will finish up its regular season this Friday when they take on in-state rival Colorado State on Friday, April 17, 2015. The Match is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. on the Butler-Hancock Tennis Courts.
Prior to the match, Senior Chrissie Hoolahan will be honored for her successful career.
