Northern Colorado women's basketball goes against top seed and host Montana in the Big Sky Championship game

Montana won the Big Sky regular season championship with a 14-4 conference record. The team is led by longtime head coach Robin Selvig who picked up another Big Sky Coach of the Year honor this season. The Griz had four players earn All-Big Sky honors, led by Co-MVP Kelly Rubel. Carly Selvig was named Defensive Player of the Year. UM made it to the championship game by defeating Idaho State 69-67 in the first round, and Eastern Washington 55-51 in the semifinals.

- This is UNC's third trip to the Big Sky Championship game in four years. The Bears are 0-2 in their previous two appearances.
- D'shara Strange became the first player in UNC history to reach 1,000 career rebounds in the team's victory on Friday. She is just the sixth player in Big Sky history to score 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds.
- The Bears enter Saturday afternoon's game on a 10 game winning streak. The ten consecutive wins is the longest in the schools Division I history, and one shy of tying the school's all-time record.
- Strange recorded her twelfth double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
- Kourteney Zadina tied a career high for 3-point shots made with six against Sacramento State. She finished the game with 18 points.
- Stephanie Lee had a solid game on both ends of the court scoring 17 points, nine rebounds, five blocks and three steals.
- Freshman Savannah Scott continues to show poise in her first Big Sky Tournament grabbing nine boards, with eight points and five assists on just two turnovers against an aggressive Sac State team.
- The Bears and Griz split their two games during the regular season, winning on each other's respective home courts. UNC's win in Missoula snapped the UM's 23 conference game win streak at home.
- With a win today, Northern Colorado will tie a program record with 21 wins. The 1997-98 and 2012-13 teams also won 21 games.
- The Bears are seeking their first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament at any level.
