Northern Colorado is currently on a two game losing streak after opening the season up 2-0. The Bears went 1-2 overall last weekend defeating Western State, before falling to Colorado on the road and St. Mary's at home
Akron will enter this weekend's tournament with a 1-2 record. Both loses have come against teams from Florida in Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast.
Valparaiso is 0-2, coming off a tough game against No. 3 Notre Dame. The trip to California will be the team's first trip out of the state of Indiana this season. Before taking on the Bears Saturday, the Crusaders will face host San Diego on Friday.
Scouting the Zips
Akron is 1-2 during these early parts of the 2015-16 season, coming off an 82-64 loss to Florida Gulf Coast last Saturday. The Zips entered the week ranked 20th in the Mid-Major Top 25 poll.

Haylee Thompson is also averaging 6.0 rebounds per game.

Against the MAC & Horizon
There is not a lot of familiarity between UNC and teams from the MAC and Horizon League. The Bears have only played one team from the two conferences. That game came against Central Michigan in 2010. The Chippewas defeated the Bears 78-74.
On These Dates
UNC is 10-9 combined on November 27 and 28. The Bears have played seven games on the 27th, going 4-3 in them. The last time the team played on the date was in 2013 when they were at UTEP. This will be the 13th time Northern Colorado has played on November 28. The team is an even 6-6 in those games including winning at Nebraska-Omaha on the date last season on the road.
Month of November
UNC enjoys the month of November with an 83-71 record all-time. Under Ethridge the team is 6-3.
Who's the Home Team?
While the Bears are used to playing neutral site games during the Big Sky Tournament, but this is the first time since 2010 that UNC has played a regular season neutral site game. Northern Colorado is winless in its last four non-conference neutral site games.
Youth is Served
UNC will be leading on a group of young players this season with 54.7 percent of the team's scoring coming from underclassmen and 43.4 percent of the team's rebounds.
What's on deck?
The Bears return home to start the month of December hosting Mountain West opponent Utah State. Last season the two teams met up in Logan, Utah with the Aggies coming out victors 65-61.
Valuing the Ball
Once again this year UNC is valuing the rock, and forcing teams into turnovers. They rank 15th in the country and first in the Big Sky with a 1.50 assist-turnover ratio. The Bears are turning the ball over just 11.5 times a game ranking 10th in the nation and second in the conference.
#RoadtoReno
New this year the Big Sky Conference will be headed to Reno, Nevada for both the men's and women's tournament. The #RoadToReno will begin on New Year's Eve and take place over March 7-13 for the women's tournament.
