GREELEY – The Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation announced Thursday the All-Colorado team and the Northern Colorado football team had five student-athletes honored on the second team.
On offense, both wide receiver Dimitri Stimphil (Homestead, Fla.) and guard Jake Solomon (Gilbert, Ariz.) were honored, while linebacker Clarence Bumpas (Colorado Springs), cornerback Courtney Hall (Pompano Beach, Fla.) and defensive end Gavin Miller (Greeley) were all named on defense.
Stimphil became just the second wide receiver in UNC's Division I history to record 1,000 yards receiving, catching 63 passes for 1,002 yards in his junior campaign. He is also the seventh Bear to do so in the entire history of the program.
Solomon, who is working towards his master's degree in sport administration, started both the 2011 and 2013 seasons at guard after starting the first half of 2012 at center before suffering a season-ending injury.
Bumpas led the Bears with 106 tackles, the second time in his three seasons he topped the century mark. He also had 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups and a blocked kick.
Hall, a junior, recorded 75 tackles during the season and in the season finale had a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown. He also led the club with six pass break ups and tallied five tackles for loss.
Miller ended his standout career with 77 total tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss. He also tied for the team lead with three quarterback hurries and two fumble recoveries. Miller forced another and had three quarterback sacks and will be playing this weekend in the FCS Senior Bowl.
