2011-12: Redshirted first semester at Nebraska before transferring at the break to Northern Colorado.
High School: Helped Centauri to back-to-back Class 3A state championships in 2009 and 2010, while winning the 160-pound individual title as a senior in 2011... Went 44-0 during his senior season, including a 14-2 major decision win over Brandon Bertsch of Alamosa in the state finals... Was named to the 2011 All-Colorado wrestling team by the Denver Post... During his junior season, went 39-5 and finished runner-up at 152 pounds... As a sophomore, Sandoval also finished in second place at 152 pounds and won 38 total matches... Earned three letters in football and one in track and cross country while at Centauri.
Personal: Is the son of Ruben and Lisa Sandoval... Born in Alamosa, Colo., and has two sisters, Nikela and Arialle... Majoring in history.
