Pi'i started at UNC prior to the start of the 2019 season, and since then the Bears have won six Big Sky Conference championships. Pi'i was promoted to Associate Head Coach January 2020 by head coach Lyndsey Oates.
The experience Pi'i brought to Greeley made UNC one of the best teams at closing out sets and turn in one of the best offensive performances of the year averaging 13.41 kills per set. He coaches the Bears middles including second team All-Big Sky selection, Lauren Hinrichs.
He came to Greeley as one of the most accomplished volleyball coaches in the state of Colorado. He left the University of Colorado as the winningest head coach in the history of the program notching 199 career wins, beating 45 ranked opponents over his 12 seasons as head coach in Boulder. As an alum of CU-Boulder he served as an assistant coach from 1989-1997 and was promoted to head coach in 1997.
After his time at CU and before coming to Greeley, he coached club at The Diff (Brighton, Colo) and was a collegiate official. He and his wife, Holly, have one grown daughter, Kanoe.
