Tyler Miller is in his fifth season as the Bears diving coach.
Under the guidance of Miller, UNC's dive program has showed steady progress through the years always having at least one diver reach the finals at the WAC Championship.
Last season, he aided sophomore Celeste Llona in qualifying for NCAA Zones for the second consecutive season. Freshman Tori Sayers was also a WAC 1m finalist.
Miller helped Aly Woods to the best performance of her career when she reached the finals in both the 3 meter and platform diving competition at the WAC Championship in 2017.Â
Prior to UNC, Miller came from Greeley School District 6, where he was the head diving coach and was responsible for three high school diving programs.
Miller graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2011 with a degree in Geology and minor in Spanish.
During his time at Wyoming, Miller was a four-year letter winner (2005-2009) for the swim and dive team. He was named to the All-Mountain West Conference Team all four years. Miller was a two-time NCAA Zone E qualifier and a four-year All-Mountain West Conference selection for the Cowboys.
Miller was also named to the Academic All-District team by CoSIDA and ESPN the Magazine during his junior season at Wyo.
He kick-started his diving career right here in the State of Colorado, winning the 4A high school State Diving Championship in 2003.
