PRIOR TO UNC: Thordis Melsted joins the Bears from Iceland after previously competing at the University of North Alabama. She totaled 166 minutes on the season, faced 31 shots, and recorded eight saves. Her eight-save performance against North Florida marked a team high at the time.
An accomplished multi-sport athlete, Thordis is a U17 Soccer National Champion (2023) and a track and field national champion, earning titles in the long jump, triple jump, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, and hammer throw.
Melsted plans to pursue a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management.
PERSONAL: She chose UNC for its strong team culture and coaching staff and is excited to begin her collegiate journey in Colorado. Outside of soccer, Thordis enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
