In 2019-20, the Stars earned two victories and four top-five finishes in seven starts. OCU remained among the top eight spots in the NAIA rankings throughout the season.
In 2018-19, Oklahoma City finished fourth in the NAIA Championships and set a tournament record with a first-round 287. OCU crushed its tournament record for margin of victory by winning the Southwestern Christian Invitational by 46 strokes on Sept. 17-18, 2018, at Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
On May 26, 2017, OCU won its NAIA-best eighth national title by eight strokes completing a wire-to-wire victory at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. An NAIA-record six Stars became all-Americans in 2016-17.

The Red Raiders enjoyed some of the best seasons in school history, including four trips to the NCAA Championships and five consecutive NCAA regional appearances. Texas Tech completed its finest season in 50 years in 2009-10, falling to Florida State 4-1 in match play of the NCAA Championships. Tech posted its first top-eight NCAA finish since 1959.
McCauley previously served as assistant coach to Kyle Blaser on OCU’s ultra-successful men's golf program for two seasons. McCauley aided the Stars to the 2003 and 2004 NAIA national championships as well as the 2003 and 2004 Sooner Athletic Conference titles.
