Had a historic season for Northern Colorado, competing in five races and setting a new school record in the 5k…Opened the year with a dominating win at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational (5k – 17:09.0)…Ran a career-best 5k at the Louisville Classic (16:39.6), finishing fifth overall and fourth among collegiate runners, setting a new program record…At the Big Sky Conference Championships, finished fifth overall in 16:33.7, earning a spot at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships…Ran her fastest 6k of the season at the Missouri Pre-National Invitational (20:22.4), placing 33rd…Closed the year at the NCAA Division I Mountain Region Cross Country Championships, finishing 58th in 22:09.5…Twice named Big Sky Cross Country Athlete of the Week (Sept. 23, Oct. 7), cementing her standout season as a leader and record-setter for the program.
2024
Ran a career best 19:31.7 in the 6k at the Golden Eagle Invitational. Also ran a season best 16:48.0 in the 5k at the Louisville Classic. The first in program history to individually qualify for the NCAA DI Cross Country Championships after a historic finish in the Mountain Region, running the 6k 19:54.4.
2023
Competed at the NCAA Division I Mountain Region Cross Country Championship, finishing with a time of 21:37.1 in the 6K. Also ran the 5K at the 2023 Big Sky Cross Country Championship, finishing 35th overall with a time of 18:43.8. The team finished 7th.
2022
Competed in the 2022 Big Sky Cross Country Championships and ran a personal best in the 5K with a time of 16:41.3 placing her 6th overall. The team finished 7th. Also raced in the 6K at the NCAA Division I Mountain Region Cross Country Championships and finished with a time of 21:48.6.

Born on August 28, 2001, Regina is the daughter of Hellen Mayala and Deogratius Nyanda. Majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Human Services.
