Prior to UNC: Saulele “Lele” Tanuvasa began her collegiate basketball career at the University of Colorado, where she redshirted, before transferring to USC Upstate for the 2024–25 season. While with the Spartans, the 6-foot guard appeared in 27 games and averaged 3.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 11.0 minutes per game. She shot 38.1% from the field, posting season highs of 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Known for her all-around impact, she added five three-pointers and went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in a win over Queens (NC).
High School: Before college, Tanuvasa earned a reputation for toughness, versatility, and a high basketball IQ. Her tenacious approach and leadership on the court made her a standout during her high school years in California.
Personal: A California native, Tanuvasa and her family relocated to Colorado two years ago, making her commitment to UNC a meaningful homecoming. She brings dynamic playmaking, scoring ability, and defensive grit to the Bears’ backcourt. Her decision to return to the Centennial State reflects her drive to contribute immediately and thrive in Big Sky competition.
