Dorian Green joined the Northern Colorado men’s basketball staff in May 2019 and was elevated to Assistant Head Coach and Director of Advanced Scouting in May 2022. Entering his seventh season in Greeley, Green has been a central figure in the Bears’ rise to sustained success in the Big Sky Conference.
During his tenure, Northern Colorado has recorded three 20-win seasons, three postseason appearances, two Big Sky Championship Game appearances, and the 2024-25 Big Sky Conference Championship. His leadership and tactical insight have been instrumental in establishing UNC as one of the most efficient and dynamic programs in the league.
Helping lead the Bears’ offensive efforts as the Offensive Coordinator, Green has guided the Bears to unprecedented scoring efficiency. From 2022-25, UNC finished No. 1 nationally in field goal percentage, while also ranking atop the Big Sky in offensive production, scoring margin (+7.9), three-point field goal percentage, and assists per game. His analytics-driven approach to game planning and player development has consistently translated to results on the court.
Green has played a significant role in developing some of the most decorated Bears in recent history. Under his guidance, Jaron Rillie, Langston Reynolds, Dejour Reeves, Matt Johnson, and Zach Bloch (2024-25 Big Sky All-Defense) all earned multiple Big Sky honors, while Jonah Radebaugh (2020), Daylen Kountz (2022), Isaiah Hawthorne (2025) and Langston Reynolds (2025) received NABC All-District recognition. His work has directly contributed to numerous All-Big Sky and All-District selections during his tenure.
On the recruiting front, Green has helped bring in program-changing talent, including Jaron Rillie and current standout Zach Bloch, both of whom have become foundational pieces for the Bears.
Prior to his time at Northern Colorado, Green worked as a graduate manager at Nebraska under Tim Miles and as an assistant coach at Furman University.
A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Green enjoyed a decorated collegiate career at Colorado State, where he finished as the sixth all-time leading scorer and fourth in assists. He helped lead the Rams to four postseason appearances, including back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths, cementing his reputation as one of the program’s most reliable playmakers.
