2018-19
- Played in 12 tournaments accumulating to 35 rounds played
- Broke the program's season stroke average mark by averaging a 70.60.
- Finished in the top 10 seven times and top 25 nine. The seven top 10s are a program record.
- Best finish was tied for third at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic when he shot a 207.
- Shot in the 60s 13 times and under par 18 times.
- Best round of the year was a 67 shot twice at the GCU Invite and Redhawk Invite.
- Earned back-to-back Big Sky Golfer of the Year honor.
2017-18
- Played in all 9 tournaments throughout his junior season.
- In 7 tournaments, he finished in the top 25, and in three of those tournaments he finished in the top 20.
- Matz shot a season low and career best of 65 in round 2 of the Colin Montgomerie- HBU Huskies Intercollegiate Tournament.
- He finished overall fourth in the tournament with a total score of 210.
- Matz also received Big Sky player of the year for this season.
2016-17
- Played in all 10 tournaments throughout the year as a sophomore.
- He had seven Top 50 finishes throughout the seasom.
- He finished inside the Top 10 of tournaments twice, once at the Ballyneal Challenge in August and again at the Big Sky Championships in April.
- At the Big Sky Championships, he finished in 6th place recording a season low 68 in one of his rounds.
- Joshua was awarded with Big Sky All-Conference Second Team honors after the season.
2015-16
- Finished his freshman year strong making starts in all 10 competitions throughout the season.
- Had a Top 5 finish in his home state of California in the California State Invite.
- Had a Top 10 finish in the Thunderbird Invitational to help lead the team to a second place finish.
- Completed his freshman season with a 11th place finish in the Big Sky Championship to propel himself to receive Honorable Mention All Big Sky.
High School
- A west coast golfer, Matz represented Agoura High School out on the links.
- He competed in the Marmonte Conference and earned first team All-Conference honors back-to-back seasons.
- He was also named the Chargers MVP for two consecutive seasons beginning when Matz was just a sophomore.
- It's not all about golf for Matz as he also has accumulated awards in the classroom.
- He has been a Principal's Scholar Athlete since his freshman year.
- Matz was ranked 271st in the Nation by Junior Golf Scoreboard.
