Bears Welcome South Dakota to Jackson Stadium

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado women's soccer returns to Jackson Stadium Thursday night as the Bears welcome South Dakota. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
UNC enters Thursday's contest with momentum following a thrilling victory over in-state rival Colorado State on Sunday. Freshman Maddie Mori delivered a breakout performance for the Bears, finding the back of the net twice in the victory.
With the match tied late in the second half, Mori struck again in the 82nd minute, scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal and lifting Northern Colorado past the Rams. The freshman forward has made an immediate impact for the Bears early in her first collegiate season.
Scouting the Coyotes
South Dakota comes to Greeley following a 3-0 victory over Morningside on Sunday in its home opener.
After a scoreless first half, the Coyotes erupted for three goals in just over four minutes. Sam Luft opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the 48th minute before freshman Sadie Strait doubled the advantage just over two minutes later. Brooke Conway completed the scoring in the 52nd minute.
The Coyotes controlled the match offensively, finishing with 36 shots, including 15 on goal, while allowing just one shot.
South Dakota has also been tested on the road early this season. The Coyotes earned a 1-1 draw against Nebraska on Aug. 16 before falling 1-0 at Green Bay on Aug. 20.
Home Sweet Home
Northern Colorado continues its early-season stretch at Jackson Stadium on Thursday. The Bears have had an opportunity to establish themselves on their home field early in the campaign, with South Dakota providing another nonconference test.
Following Thursday's matchup, UNC will remain home for its rescheduled contest against Denver on Sunday.
