Bears Earn Scoreless Draw at Utah Tech
10/15/2026 9:34:00 PM | Women's Soccer
ST. GEORGE, Utah – Northern Colorado women's soccer battled Utah Tech to a 0-0 draw Thursday night at Greater Zion Stadium, extending its unbeaten streak to three matches in Big Sky Conference play.
The Bears moved to 4-5-4 overall and 1-0-2 in conference action, while the Trailblazers moved to 7-5-2 overall and 3-1-1 in Big Sky play.
Both teams battled throughout the contest, but neither side could find the back of the net as Northern Colorado earned another valuable conference point on the road.
"I thought it was a great game," head coach Tim Barrera said. "The effort was really good. I thought we had some really good possession."
Northern Colorado continued its strong defensive stretch after recording shutouts against Idaho and Eastern Washington in its previous two matches. The scoreless draw marked the Bears' third consecutive shutout and fifth of the season.
Barrera praised several players for their performances, including Ava Marshall, Mia Norman, Lexi Tuite, Paige Hill, and Preslie Young.
Marshall contributed in the midfield, while Norman helped anchor the Bears' defensive efforts. Tuite provided a presence up top, with Paige and Young contributing valuable minutes.
Despite creating opportunities and maintaining stretches of possession, Northern Colorado was unable to break through offensively.
"We just got to find a way to find the back of the net," Barrera said.
The result gave Northern Colorado five points through its first three Big Sky Conference matches as the Bears continued their push through conference play.
Up Next
Northern Colorado continues its road trip Sunday, Oct. 18, when the Bears travel to Cedar City, Utah, to face Southern Utah. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT.
