GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado Athletics Department has announced staff additions and internal transitions.
Brooke Richards has been named Director of Football Operations after serving in the department since October 2024. Previously the Director of Strategic Communications, Richards led media relations and contributed significantly to departmental storytelling while maintaining a strong connection with the football program. In her new role, she will oversee all football operations, including team travel, budgeting, scheduling, and day-to-day logistics. Richards is among a small group of women serving in this capacity at the Division I level. She assumed the new role on April 17.
The Bears also welcome Cole Heiberger, who will begin April 28 as Assistant Business Manager. Heiberger brings a strong background in finance and operations, most recently working with PRG Management in Chicago, where he managed financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations across multiple property portfolios. A graduate of Texas Christian University's Neeley School of Business, his experience also includes roles in property analysis with Valbridge Property Advisors and compliance work with JPMorgan Chase & Co., along with management experience in a retail setting. His diverse background will support and enhance UNC's internal business operations.
Finally, UNC has added Tim Grosz as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. Grosz brings more than 26 years of collegiate athletics experience, most recently serving as Associate Director of Athletics and Head Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Northwestern. A respected leader in the profession, he has guided programs to multiple national postseason appearances, including an NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen run and two NCCAA Division I National Championships. His administrative background includes experience in NCAA committee service, budgeting, game operations, personnel management, and strategic facility planning. At UNC, Grosz will support NCAA Division I compliance efforts.
