Corder Wins Big Sky Title, Beckford Earns Silver as Bears Close Indoor Championships

POCATELLO, Idaho - Northern Colorado closed out the 2026 Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday with a conference champion, multiple podium finishes and several scoring performances as the indoor season came to an end.

On the women's side, Camaria Corder delivered a championship moment, winning the Big Sky title in the triple jump with a mark of 12.66 meters (41'6.50"). Her gold-medal performance highlighted the Bears' final day push and provided a major points boost in the team standings.

Alexia Austin added a strong showing in the 60-meter hurdles final, placing fifth in 8.49. Monique Stewart scored in the 800 meters with a sixth-place finish in 2:12.31, while Lucy Varela (5:23.07) competed in the mile and Claire Nowels (10:41.11) represented UNC in the 3000 meters.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Stewart, Donice Bruno-Ezealah, Alison Hoodak and Caydence Brewer clocked a time of 3:54.61 to finish ninth.

Northern Colorado finished eighth in the women's team standings with 32 points. Northern Arizona claimed the team title with 164.5 points, followed by Montana State and Montana in second and third.

On the men's side, Daniel Beckford capped an impressive weekend with a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing in 7.87 to earn silver and key team points. Jaydon Sundbye also scored in the event, placing sixth in 8.32.

Raphael Egbuchilem turned in a standout performance in the 400 meters, finishing fourth in 47.93. He later returned to anchor the 4x400-meter relay alongside Christopher Cheatham, Johnny Fisher and Edgar Garcia, as the quartet placed fifth in 3:14.98.

Tyler Rogers continued his strong championship meet with a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 2.04 meters (6'8.25"). Kaliff Guevara added a ninth-place mark of 14.14 meters (46'4.75") in the triple jump.

Northern Colorado placed eighth in the men's final team standings with 36 points. Northern Arizona secured the men's team title with 200 points, with Montana State and Montana rounding out the top three.
