GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado opens Big Sky Conference play Thursday, hosting Idaho at Jackson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. MT.
The Bears enter the match at 3-5-2, following a three-match road swing that closed with losses at San Diego State and Boise State. Thursday marks UNC's seventh home contest of the season and its first since Sept. 10 against Air Force.
Back at Jackson
Northern Colorado returns to Greeley after nearly a month away, having not played at home since a 2-1 win over the Falcons. The Bears opened the season with a five-match home stand that included a win over Colorado State and draws with Denver and South Dakota.
Tuite Finding Her Form
Senior Lexi Tuite has been the Bears' attacking constant in her time at Northern Colorado, leading the team in goals in two of her first three seasons. The start of 2026 was a different story, five matches without a goal.
She broke through as a playmaker instead. Tuite assisted on both goals in the win over Colorado State, setting a new single-season high with two assists, then delivered the game-winner at UC Riverside in the 20th minute, her second goal of the season and the Bears' first road victory of the year.
Scouting Idaho
The Vandals arrive at 7-2-3 and are unbeaten in their last three, including a 3-0 win over Idaho State on Oct. 4 and a 1-1 draw with Weber State on Oct. 1 to open conference play.
Idaho has been difficult to score on all season. The Vandals have conceded just six goals in twelve matches, with goalkeeper Paula Flores posting a 0.51 goals-against average and six shutouts. Opponents are averaging only 7.7 shots per game against them.
The attack runs through Hallie Prinos-Grumbach, who leads the team with three goals, and Georgia Whitehead, who has taken a team-high 31 shots and added three assists. Miranda Goldner has a team-best four assists, while Alyssa Hamilton, Payton Oelkers, Makenna Stuart and Calli Chiarelli have each scored twice.
Idaho has generated 74 corner kicks to its opponents' 29, and has outshot teams 191 to 92 on the season.
