FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Northern Colorado sits fourth after the opening day of the Front Range Invite, held at the Edora Pool and Ice Center on the Colorado State campus.

Wyoming leads the women's field with 440.5 points, followed by Air Force at 367.5, Colorado State at 302 and Northern Colorado at 300. Denver rounds out the standings at 240.

The Bears opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 400-yard medley relay, where Martina Yuki Trionfetti, Avi Tromp, Ellyson Lombardi and Kyra Rabess touched in 3:47.47, behind Colorado State's winning 3:44.74. Northern Colorado's second entry of Ariane Bernier, Lara Oggionni, Anisa Sabovic and Alexis Mishler placed 11th in 3:59.12, and a third group of Linnea Haan, Aubrielle Stevens, Agathi Manoli and Vitoria Simioni also competed.

Lombardi Wins the 200 Butterfly
The Bears' lone individual victory of the day came from Ellyson Lombardi, who took the 200-yard butterfly in 2:02.46. Northern Colorado flooded the top of that event: Anisa Sabovic finished third in 2:06.80, Agathi Manoli was fifth in 2:08.78 and Hlaa Diab placed 10th in 2:10.19.

Tromp Shines in the IM and Breaststroke
Tromp delivered two of the Bears' strongest individual results. She finished third in the 200-yard IM at 2:06.97, and took second in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:21.99. Lara Oggionni also scored in the breaststroke, placing 15th in 2:29.34.

Depth in the 500 Freestyle
Northern Colorado placed four swimmers in the top 30 of the 500-yard freestyle. Emma On-the-Hill led the way in second at 5:05.80, followed by Kyra Rabess in fourth at 5:07.00. Lora Konter finished 16th in 5:16.77 and Ellyson Lombardi placed 24th in 5:21.11.

Sprint and Freestyle Scoring
Trionfetti added a sixth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.97 and a sixth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle at 52.05. Alexis Mishler was ninth in the 50 free at 24.13, and Vitoria Simioni took 11th at 24.19 and 12th in the 100 free at 52.13. Aubrielle Stevens tied for 26th in the 50 free at 24.99.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Kyra Rabess finished 14th at 53.17 and Alexis Mishler placed 17th at 53.44.

Backstroke and Butterfly Contributions
Ariane Bernier finished 10th in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:07.59, with Audrey Vannelli 20th at 2:12.12 and Linnea Haan 23rd at 2:13.43.

Beyond her butterfly win, Lombardi also scored in the 500 free, while On-the-Hill picked up points in the 200 butterfly with an 11th-place finish at 2:10.49. Konter was 13th in that event at 2:11.37 and Vannelli 19th at 2:12.84.

Relay Depth
The Bears closed the day with two scoring relays in the 200-yard freestyle. Simioni, Trionfetti, Mishler and Rabess finished fifth in 1:35.86, while Konter, Lombardi, Tromp and Bernier took ninth in 1:38.00. A third group of Audrey Varet, Gabriella Fish, Sabovic and On-The-Hill finished 14th in 1:39.95.
