GREELEY, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado diving squad is set to return to competition this week at the Air Force Diving Invitational, a three-day meet running Jan. 29-31 at the Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs.
Â
The Bears will be represented on the women's side, with four divers slated to compete across the 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform events. Northern Colorado opens the meet Thursday with the women's 1-meter competition, beginning with prelims at 10:30 a.m., followed by finals for the top 12 later in the day. The men's 3-meter event will run simultaneously, while open practice sessions round out the afternoon schedule.
Â
Friday shifts focus to the women's 3-meter board, with prelims starting at 10:30 a.m. and finals contested in the early afternoon. The day also features the men's and women's team event, adding a combined scoring element to the invitational field.
Â
The meet concludes Saturday with the platform competition, beginning with warmups at 8 a.m. Women's platform prelims will follow at 9:30 a.m., with finals scheduled for late morning, while the men's platform events cap off the invitational in the afternoon.
Â
The Air Force Diving Invitational brings together a deep and diverse field, including Air Force, Denver, Wyoming, Colorado, BYU, Fresno State, San Jose State, California Baptist, and Northern Colorado. The multi-day format and simultaneous events provide an opportunity for the Bears to gain valuable postseason-style experience against strong regional and national competition.
Â
UP NEXT:Â The Bears will host Utah Tech on Saturday, February 7 at 10 a.m. in Butler-Hancock Pool.
