COLUMBIA, Mo. – Northern Colorado wrestling continued its road stretch Sunday afternoon, traveling to Columbia to face Big 12 opponent Missouri. The Bears battled through a challenging lineup but ultimately fell to the Tigers, 42-0.
The dual opened at 125 pounds, where Bryson Valdez faced No. 24 Mack Maugner. Maugner built an early lead with multiple take downs in the first period. Valdez showed resilience with several escapes, but Maugner's control proved decisive as he earned a 19-4 technical fall, giving Missouri an early 5-0 advantage.
At 133 pounds, Kade Orr stepped in as a utility wrestler, competing above his usual weight class against Gage Walker. Orr surrendered an early take down before responding with an escape to trail 3-1 after the opening period. Orr continued to battle, displaying grit and strategic attacks throughout the match, but Walker maintained control to extend Missouri's led to 9-0.
Ramon Salazar took the mat at 141 pounds against Zeke Seltzer in a back-and-forth contest. Both wrestlers traded scoring opportunities, and Salazar mounted a late rally, but Seltzer held on for an 11-8 decision win, pushing the Tigers' advantage to 12-0.

The Bears faced another ranked opponent at 157 pounds, as Daishun Powe met No. 15 Teague Travis. The bout was tightly contested with strategic positioning and calculated attacks from both sides. Travis capitalized on his opportunities and earned a 9-2 decision to make it 19-0.
