UNC Wrestling Unveils 2025 Season Slate

GREELEY, Colo, – The University of Northern Colorado wrestling program has officially released its 2025–2026 competition schedule, marking a new era under the leadership of newly appointed head coach, Teyon Ware. Hired in July 2025, Coach Ware brings extensive experience and a renewed vision to a Bears team seeking to build on its recent momentum in the Big 12 Conference.

The season will begin with the annual Blue and Gold Scrimmage, scheduled for (Oct. 31) at the Bank of Colorado Arena. This intra-squad event will offer fans an early preview of the upcoming squad. The competitive season begins with a high-profile road trip, as UNC travels to face North Carolina State (Nov. 8) and nationally ranked North Carolina at Chapel Hill on (Nov. 9).
Following the duals in North Carolina, the Bears will travel to Kearney, Nebraska, to compete in the Nebraska-Kearney Tournament on (Nov. 22) Other non-conference road competition will be at the Cougar Clash Duals in Edwardsville, Illinois, on (Dec. 6), and finish with the Southern Scuffle (Jan. 3-4).
Coach Ware will lead the Bears in his first official home dual on (Dec. 19) against Campbell University. The home dual schedule will continue with matches against the University of Pennsylvania (Jan. 11), Arizona State University (Jan. 18), the University of Wyoming (Feb.13), and Utah Valley University (Feb.15).
The Bears' Road conference schedule begins on (Dec. 30) with a dual at California Baptist University. Big 12 road competitions include matches at the University of Missouri (Jan. 25), North Dakota State University (Jan. 30), South Dakota State University (Feb. 1), and a regular season finale at the Air Force Academy (Feb. 22).
The postseason will begin with the Big 12 Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, held (Mar. 6–7).
The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships are scheduled for (Mar. 19–21) in Cleveland, Ohio.
With a strong combination of returning veterans and talented newcomers, the 2025–2026 UNC Bears are well-positioned for a successful season under Coach Ware's direction.
