Mpigachai Named Big Sky Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah – The Big Sky Conference office announce Tuesday that Northern Colorado cross country standout Regina Mpigachai claimed the Big Sky Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor after her individual victory on Saturday.
Mpigachai dominated her 2025 season debut with a first-place finish in the 5k at the Woody Green Dirksen Invitational. The senior won the race with 17:08.94, defeating the next closest finisher by more than 30 seconds. Other opponents at the meet included Nebraska, Wichita State, Air Force, and Missouri.
"We are so proud of Regina, she showed tremendous grit and determination in defending her title at the Woody Greeno Invitational," said Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Wayne Angel, "Her consistency and competitive spirit continue to set the standard for our program."
The women's team will travel to Louisville, Kentucky on October 4 for the Louisville Classic while the men will compete at the UCCS XC Open in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 10.
