COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Northern Colorado volleyball opened its weekend at the Air Force Tournament on Friday afternoon, going toe-to-toe with Utah Tech in a competitive four-set contest.

The Bears came out strong, trading points with the Trailblazers in the opening frames, but Utah Tech was able to find separation late in key stretches to take the match 3-1. UNC showed resilience throughout, highlighted by steady play at the net and rallies that kept momentum within reach.

Several Bears made an impact on the stat sheet, with great performances in both the attack and defensive phases. UNC's offensive balance kept the match tight, while the back row defense anchored by the Bears limited Utah Tech's big runs.

Northern Colorado will continue play at the Air Force Tournament Friday evening, facing tournament host, Air Force.

The Bears will look to bounce back and capture momentum in a non conference match-up.

First serve is set for 7 p.m. MT at Cadet East Gym.
