Bears Defeat Falcons in Five Sets

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Northern Colorado volleyball closed out its second match of the Air Force Tournament in thrilling fashion Friday night, outlasting host Air Force in a five-set battle to earn a hard-fought victory.
The Bears and Falcons traded momentum all evening in a back-and-forth contest, with neither side able to pull away. UNC showed resilience at key moments, delivering clutch points late in sets and controlling the tempo when it mattered most.
In the decisive fifth set, the Bears surged ahead early and never looked back, securing the win and building momentum in tournament play.
Northern Colorado's balanced attack and steady defensive presence proved to be the difference, with multiple Bears stepping up to make big plays throughout the night. Alayna Tessena and Brynn Reines both finished the match with double digit kills. On the defensive side, GA McCarter anchored the defense with 20 digs.
UNC will look to carry its strong performance into the final match of the Air Force Tournament as the Bears aim to close the weekend on a high note against in-state opponent Denver.
