Former Cross Country and Track Coach Moves into Administrative Position
GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado Athletics Department has announced that Stormie Sickler has transitioned into the role of Assistant Director of Compliance, continuing her service to UNC Athletics in a new capacity. She will officially begin her new role on July 1.
Sickler has been a member of the UNC Athletics staff since 2019, when she joined as Assistant Cross Country and Track and Field Coach. She was promoted to Associate Head Cross Country/Assistant Track and Field Coach in 2023, and now brings that same dedication and experience to the compliance team. In her new role, Sickler will support NCAA rules education, monitoring, and interpretation for UNC's coaches, student-athletes, and programs.
Originally from Dickinson, North Dakota, Sickler competed in cross country and track and field at Dickinson State University from 2011–2016, helping lead the program to its first-ever NAIA Cross Country National Championship appearance and its first outdoor conference title in nearly four decades. She holds a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Coaching from DSU and a master's degree in Sports Performance and Administration from Northern State University, where she also served as a graduate assistant coach.
Sickler's coaching career includes significant achievements both at UNC and in previous roles, and her continued commitment to professional development is reflected in her certifications, including USATF Level 1 and multiple credentials from the USTFCCCA in technical training, sports psychology, and sports science.
