GREELEY, Colo. - UNC Athletics and Banner Health have expanded and extended their strategic partnership that secures Banner Health's role as the exclusive healthcare partner of UNC Athletics. The partnership builds on a relationship that supports our student-athletes not just on game day, but every day.
Â
"Every time our student-athletes put on a UNC uniform, they represent our university, our community, and everyone who helps them succeed," said Darren Dunn, Director of Athletics. "Banner Health has been an incredible partner in caring for our student-athletes for many years, and we're excited to recognize that commitment in a visible way."
Â
"We are incredibly proud to deepen our partnership with UNC Athletics and to have our name on the uniforms of these outstanding student-athletes," said Alan Qualls, chief executive officer of Banner's Northern Colorado hospitals. "This jersey patch is a visible symbol of our commitment to UNC Athletics."
Â
For the first time in UNC Athletics history, student-athletes will take the field and court wearing a new symbol of partnership and commitment.
Â
Beginning this season, UNC Athletics will feature a Banner Health jersey patch on the uniforms of its NCAA-sponsored programs as part of an expanded partnership between the Athletics Department and Banner Health. Â The patch will appear on football, men's basketball and women's basketball uniforms, in accordance with NCAA and conference regulations during the 2026-27 season and will expand to volleyball, soccer, baseball, and softball uniforms in future years.
Â
While fans will immediately notice the new look, the jersey patch represents much more than a logo. It represents Banner Health's continued commitment to providing UNC student-athletes with world-class sports medicine, athletic training, and healthcare resources while strengthening one of the University's most valued partnerships.
Â
Beyond the new uniform patch, the long-term partnership includes access to Banner's sports medicine personnel, athletic training services, team physicians, medical leadership, event medical coverage, and other health and wellness initiatives that directly benefit UNC student-athletes.
Â
For fans, the jersey patch will become a new part of the Bears' identity as teams compete throughout the Big Sky Conference and beyond. Â For student-athletes, it serves as a visible reminder of the healthcare professionals working behind the scenes to help them perform at their best.
Â
Fans will see the new Banner Health jersey patch make its debut as the Bears take the field this fall, marking another milestone in a partnership dedicated to supporting UNC in and out of competition.
