Soto Steps Into New Role After Supporting UNC Game Day Operations and Facilities
GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado Department of Athletics welcomes Elian Soto as its new Assistant Director of Strategic Communications beginning July 1.
Soto steps into the role following his time as a Facilities and Event Coordinator for UNC Athletics, where he served as the lead facility and game manager for women's soccer and baseball, while also assisting with operations for volleyball, basketball, and football. In this role, he managed more than 20 student event staff members and oversaw logistics for both internal and external events, including CHSAA state championships, youth camps, and community graduations.
Before his time in Greeley, Soto was a RAM Life Intern with Colorado State Athletics, where he supported career development initiatives for more than 340 student-athletes. He helped organize the department's annual career fair, co-led the "Reading with the Rams" community outreach program, and contributed to overall life skills programming.
Soto brings a coaching background as well, having spent three seasons as a high school basketball coach at Jefferson Academy Secondary in Broomfield, Colorado. In that role, he developed practice plans, built team culture, and worked collaboratively to support more than 30 student-athletes.
A Denver native, Soto earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from MSU Denver in May 2024, graduating with a 3.93 GPA and President's Honor Roll distinction. He earned his Master of Science in Sport Administration at Northern Colorado in May 2025.
