FARMINGTON, Utah – The Big Sky Conference released its 2025 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coaches' Polls on Thursday, with Northern Colorado projected to finish fourth on the men's side and ninth on the women's side heading into outdoor season.
Voted on by the league's head coaches, the polls forecast another competitive year across the board. Coaches are permitted to vote for their own teams.
Northern Colorado's men's team earned 68 points in the poll, placing the Bears just behind perennial powerhouses Northern Arizona (98) and Montana State (92), as well as Montana (75). The fourth-place projection marks one of the highest preseason outdoor rankings in recent program history.
On the women's side, UNC was picked ninth with 20 points, just behind Weber State (39) and Eastern Washington (42). Despite the lower projection, the Bears return several key athletes looking to make a strong push at the 2025 Big Sky Outdoor Championships.
Northern Arizona was picked to win both the men's and women's titles, with the Lumberjacks receiving the majority of first-place votes following a sweep of the 2025 Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships in February.
The 2025 Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held May 14–17 at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State in Sacramento, California.
