GREELEY, Colo. – Junior hurdler Jerome Campbell has been named Luna's Taco Student-Athlete of the Week by the University of Northern Colorado Athletics Department for his performance at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend.
Campbell broke the UNC and Big Sky 60-meter hurdle record both in the prelims and finals. He was named a First Team All-American after finishing second with a time of 7.49.
The Kingston, Jamaica native ran the third fastest time in the event in Jamaican history and is ending the indoor season as the second faster runner in the event in the NCAA.
"I am so proud of Jerome and his accomplishment last week. He showed America that it's not the size of the school or the name on the Jersey that makes the difference," said Director of Track & Field Wayne Angel, "But the size of your heart and the fire with in that makes the difference."
Campbell will be competing in the event at the World Athletics Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend.
