Campbell Earns First Team All-American Honors

The junior sprinter was runner-up in the 60m hurdles
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Jerome Campbell finished second in the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor National Championship with a record-breaking time of 7.49 seconds.
His time is the third fastest in the event in Jamaican history, and he is currently ranked 15th in the world.
The junior rebroke the UNC and Big Sky records he set in prelims last night to finish second and earn First Team All-America honors. Campbell will now look forward to the World Athletics Indoor Championships next weekend in Nanjing, China.
"I am thrilled for Jerome, he was on a rendezvous with destiny and raced with the guts, determination and the pride of a UNC Bear!" said Director of Track & Field Wayne Angel.

The Bears will begin the 2025 outdoor season at the Jack Christiansen Invite at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo.
