GREELEY, Colo. – The Northern Colorado community came together in a big way during home volleyball matches and men's and women's basketball games throughout this season of giving.
On Thursday, November 13, when UNC volleyball hosted Idaho State, the Bears collected food donations to support the Weld Food Bank, and the effort turned out to be a great success. Fans who donated received free admission, and the turnout surpassed expectations, making a meaningful impact during an important time of year.
The generosity continued on Friday during the women's basketball game against Chadron State, presented in partnership with Allo Fiber. Fans who brought canned food items were given complimentary admission, and the response was tremendous. Thanks to everyone who contributed, a significant amount of food was gathered for both the Bear Pantry and the Weld County Food Bank, helping provide meals and essential resources for individuals and families who need them.
The momentum carried into Saturday as the men's basketball team welcomed Regis. Once again, the crowd showed up strong, donating generously and reinforcing the spirit of unity and service that defines Northern Colorado.
Along with the food drives, UNC Athletics also hosted a toy drive throughout the weekend. Fans donated new, unwrapped toys that will be delivered to the Rodarte Center to help brighten the holiday season for local families.
After the weekend wrapped up, UNC players and coaches personally delivered the donated items, showing their commitment to giving back and their appreciation for the community's ongoing support.
Northern Colorado Athletics extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this season of giving so impactful.
Happy Holidays from UNC Athletics.
