GREELEY, Colo, - In the spirit of the holiday season, Northern Colorado athletics is excited to host a series of "Season of Giving" promotions at upcoming volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball games. Fans can join in the effort to support local families and community organizations by bringing canned food items or unwrapped toys in exchange for free admission to select home games.
The "Season of Giving" events begin on Thursday, November 13 when the UNC volleyball team faces Idaho State. The Bears will be accepting food donations to help the Weld Food Bank at the game. The items that are most needed include: stuffing mix, canned corn, canned green beans, canned fruit, and soups. Every person who shows up with a donated food item will receive free admission to the game.
On Friday, November 28 the women's basketball team hosts Chadron State. Fans who bring a canned food item will receive free admission to the game, courtesy of Allo Fiber. Donations collected will benefit the Bear Pantry and Weld County Food Bank, helping to provide meals and resources for individuals and families. The promotion continues Saturday, November 29, as the men's basketball team takes on Regis.
The Bears are also participating in the Big Sky/Summit Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Council Challenge on December 3 and 6. Fans are welcome to bring in toiletry items to help support those in need during the holiday season. The women's basketball team will face Kansas City on Wednesday, December 3 and the men's basketball team will play South Dakota on Saturday, December 6.
To round out the giving campaign, fans attending this game are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy in exchange for free admission. Toys collected will be donated to the Rodarte Community Center, spreading holiday cheer to local children and families.
Fans are encouraged to bring their donations to the ticket entrance at Bank of Colorado Arena.
