WOODLAND, Calif. – The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) announced Tuesday that Northern Colorado's Ellyson Lombardi has been named the MPSF Swimmer of the Week following a dominant showing at the 2025 Front Range Invite in Denver.
Lombardi stood out against a strong field featuring Denver, Air Force, Colorado State, and Wyoming, claiming two individual victories over the weekend. The junior opened the meet with a commanding win in the 200-yard butterfly, touching first in 2:04.66, before returning on Saturday to capture the 100-yard butterfly title in 55.14. Her performance helped lead the Bears to multiple top-10 finishes and a podium result in the 400 medley relay, where Lombardi also swam a key leg.
Lombardi's recognition marks Northern Colorado's first MPSF weekly honor of the 2025-26 campaign, underscoring her impact as one of the conference's premier butterfly specialists.
The Bears will return to Greeley for their home opener on Friday, Oct. 11, when they host Idaho in a dual meet at Butler-Hancock Pool, beginning at 10 a.m.
