GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado swimming and diving is set to compete at the Air Force Quad on Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Bears will face off against Colorado School of Mines, UTRGV, New Mexico, and Air Force.Â
ABOUT THE MEET
Swimmers from all teams will compete simultaneously, with scores tallied as individual dual meets. The event will be held on a closed base and is not open to the public. Fans can watch the meet live on the Air Force Falcons YouTube channel.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTSÂ
New Mexico competed last on Jan. 2, losing to San Diego State and Pepperdine.
The WAC rival Vaqueros competed at a swim meet at Idaho and a dive meet at Trinity in November. The swim team finished fourth, while the dive team swept the 3-meter springboard. UTRGV is ranked ninth in WAC dual rankings.
Colorado School of Mines competed at Denver on Jan. 3, losing 34-169.
The Falcons placed third out of eight teams at the Phil Hansel Invitational in November 2024. They are ranked 41st in SwimCloud's dual rankings for Division I Mid-Major schools.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears will open the new year after finishing fifth at the Trailblazer Invite in November 2024. At the meet, UNC achieved 15 CSCAA cuts, six top-10 all-time program performances, and 47 lifetime bests. Northern Colorado is ranked 15th in the Division I Mid-Major Dual Rankings and first in the WAC.
CSCAA NIC 2025
Northern Colorado swimming and dive will be eyeing the 2025 CSCAA National Invitational Championship, set to take place at the FAST Facility in Ocala, Florida from March 13-15, 2025. The event offers Division I swimmers and divers who have achieved B/Zone standards a chance to compete beyond the NCAA Championships. With a chance to qualify through automatic entry by winning their event at a conference championship or by meeting the CSCAA 'A' standard, the Bears are primed for another strong postseason showing. Teams can also enter relays with their fastest times, even if those times don't meet the qualifying standard.
