NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Darius Stewart scampered for a 59-yard touchdown and Kalen Smedley registered a team-high seven tackles for Northern Colorado in a 48-7 setback to Stephen F. Austin, in front of 7,683 at Homer Bryce Stadium Saturday.

Kia'i Keone accounted for 76 of the Bears 224 yards on the ground. The fourth-string quarterback completed 10 of 14 pass attempts, with no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Defensively, Kalen Smedley led UNC with seven tackles, while David Hoage accounted for the lone sack. Noah Mangham broke up two passes, while Ezra Ekuban, Franky Morales and Darrell Bryant Jr. tallied one each. Keenan Gutherie posted one tackle for loss.

Sam Vidlak threw for 219 yards on 16 of 26, with three touchdowns. He put SFA up 7-0, when he connected on a 20-yard pass to Kylon Harris, with 12:51 left in the opening quarter. Vidlak tossed two more TDs in the opening 30 minutes and Jerrell Wimbley rushed for a pair to open a 35-0 advantage at the half.

Stewart shed a tackle and received a downfield block to sprint down the far sideline for the Bears touchdown just 1:37 into the second half.

The Lumberjacks added a touchdown midway in the third and a pair of field goals in the fourth.
