Northern Colorado to Play at Texas-San Antonio in WNIT First Round

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado has earned and accepted a berth in the esteemed Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) and will face off against UTSA in San Antonio, Texas, Thursday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m.
"Our number one goal is to play basketball beyond our conference tournament. Whether it's an NCAA tournament opportunity or the prestigious WNIT that we were just selected for. "We want to build a standard of playing as deep as we can in postseason play," said UNC head women's basketball coach Kristen Mattio. "Our players have earned this opportunity to continue to play together this season and I am very proud of our overall body of work and product we put on the floor. The players work so hard preparing for our season beginning in the summer. We value every chance we get to represent UNC and put on that blue and gold jersey!"
It's the 13th time the Bears will play in the postseason and the seventh time in the NCAA Division I era. It's the fifth time UNC will play in the WNIT, having previously played in the tournament in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2019.
UNC matched up with Wyoming in 2019.

The 2024 Postseason WNIT will again have its championship game broadcast on CBS Sports Network, with tipoff set for Saturday, April 6, at 1 p.m. MTN.
