2/3/2024 9:29:00 PM | Women's Basketball
OGDEN, Utah – Three Northern Colorado student-athletes scored in double digits, and the Bears defeated Weber State 73-63 in a tough Big Sky Conference match-up Saturday afternoon.
Senior Delaynie Byrne tallied a game-high 19 points to go with seven rebounds. Byrne also was dangerous behind the arc and drilled five 3-pointers. Fellow senior Hannah Simental added 16 points and handed out a game-high six rebounds.
Sophomore Aniah Hall scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Gabi Fields added nine points and Tena Ikidi finished with eight points.
Coach Mattio Quote
"This was a nice win for us on the road today! We got in some early first-half foul trouble with our post but had plenty of players step up in their absence. Delaynie was key to our fast start today. Aniah gave us some big points in the second half. Hannah made the big shots when we needed her down the stretch. 20 assists shows the selflessness of our team and the collective effort to make each other look good! We knocked down our free throws late to earn the win! We are two games into our four-game road trip and need to carry this focus over into next week."
