GREELEY, Colo. – Gabi Placide paced Northern Colorado with 14 kills, but Northern Colorado suffered a setback against Sacramento State at Bank of Colorado Arena Thursday.

The 20-25, 23-25, 26-28 result snapped the Bears eight-match winning streak.

Brynn Reines netted nine kills, four digs and one service ace. Syd Cole dished out 29 assists to seven different Bears and added nine digs, four kills and an ace.

The Hornets hit .378, the highest by any opponent this season, while UNC posted a .219 hitting percentage.

Sacramento State converted 21 of 39 swings, with three errors in the opening game.

UNC held a 9-2 advantage at the service line and held a 41-37 in digs.
