Reynolds Drops Career-High in Season Opening Win

GREELEY, Colo. – Langston Reynolds led all scorers with a career-high 21 points and helped Northern Colorado to a 75-55 opening night victory over Colorado College at Bank of Colorado Arena.
The Bears built an early advantage with a defensive onslaught in the first half. They pushed the margin to 12-2 at the 13:13, when Marcell McCreary capped off an 8-0 run with a pair of free throws.
A 13-5 spurt by the Tigers in just two minutes and 23 seconds sliced the deficit to 17-15. UNC methodically nudged the gap out to 38-29 at the half.
Colorado College hit 5 of 11 from 3-point range, while the Bears made just 2 for 13. The Bears held the Tigers to 12.5% (2-16) from behind the arch in the final 20 minutes.
UNC held a double-digit advantage most of the second half but Colorado College trimmed the margin to 59-49, with 6:48 remaining. The Bears responded with a 9-0 run over the next 2:29, before building their biggest cushion at 24, with just over a minute left.
Brock Wisne finished with 15 points, while McCreary totaled 12. Jaron Rillie snagged a career-high 10 rebounds.
Isaiah Hawthorne, Quinn Decker, Luca Colceag, Taeshaud Jackson and William Humer debuted for the Bears, while Egan Shields logged minutes in his first collegiate game.
