Denker Paces UNC in Setback at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – Quinn Denker paced Northern Colorado in an 89-64 setback to Texas Tech at United Supermarkets Arena Saturday.
The senior guard from San Jose, Calif., tallied 16 points on 5 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 5 from 3-point range and sank all attempts at the free-throw line.
Isaiah Hawthorne and Langston Reynolds recorded 12 points each. Hawthorne paced the Bears with four steals, while Jaron Rillie led the squad with six rebounds and four assists.
UNC inked season lows in 3-point shooting percentage at 26.7% and 3-pointers made, with six.
The Bears outscored Texas Tech in points in the paint and second-chance points, recording more steals and fewer turnovers.
UNC opened a five-point advantage five minutes into the game but trailed 21 at the half after the Red Raiders closed with a 42-26 run, including a 12-0 spurt.
Texas Tech built its largest lead of the game with 8:21 remaining at 73-41.
