Green, Chappa Earn BSC Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah – Northern Colorado placed two student-athletes on the All-Big Sky Conference Team, league officials announced Wednesday.
These league's head coaches vote on the accolades but are not allowed to vote for their players.
Redshirt sophomore placekicker and punter Hunter Green earned an All-Big Sky Specialist First Team spot. At the same time, freshman defensive back Cam Chapa collected honorable mention honors on the defensive side.
Green, a native of Redmond, Washington, led the league and ranked fifth nationally with 46.3 yards per kick. He paced the Big Sky Conference with 21 punts over 50 yards, eight more than the next-highest total. He posted a season-long 72-yard punt against Abilene Christian. His 23 punts downed inside the 20 placed him first in the Big Sky Conference.
Chappa, a standout at Eaglecrest High School in Aurora, Colorado, played in all 12 games for the Bears during his rookie season. He ranked second in the Big Sky and 19th in FCS in interceptions per game, while his 6.9 tackles per game placed him 14th in the league and 118th in the nation.
