GREELEY, Colo. - Shelby Schoenbeck and Leila Ballard joined the 2025 recruiting class, head coach Lyndsey Oates announced Wednesday.
Â
"We are excited about our 2025 recruiting class, which adds depth at the attacking positions," Oates said. "They are both good students, high-character individuals and athletes who want to compete for championships."Â
Â
Schoenbeck, a middle blocker from Peoria, Arizona, tallied 271 kills, with a .426 hitting percentage through 108 games during her senior campaign.
Â
She netted 112 blocks, including 22 solo rejections for Sunrise Mountain High School.
Â
"Shelby is a very natural blocker who uses her length well," Oates said. She also has good arm speed as we like to recruit offensive middles.
Â
Schoenbeck carried a 3.56 GPA into her final year of high school and plans on majoring in business with entrepreneurship.
Â
Ballard, an outside hitter from Saugus, California, joins the Bears after winning two league titles through her junior campaign.
Â
In 119 sets so far this season, she tallied 615 kills at Saugus High School, ranking 64th in the nation, with a .325 hitting percentage and 77 service aces. Defensively, Ballard recorded 374 digs and 41 blocks in 119 sets played.
Â
"Leila is an overall great athlete," Oates said. "She is a great defender for an attacker and has great arm speed."
Â
She has a 4.1 GPA and her degree interests include business and psychology.
