MOSCOW, Idaho – Northern Colorado dispatched Idaho in straight sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-16) at Memorial Gym Saturday.

The Bears extended their winning streak to seven, improving to 17-5 on the season, including 8-1 in Big Sky Conference play. Idaho fell to 1-19 overall and 0-9 in league action.

UNC won in three sets for the sixth time during the winning streak, including the last four matches. The Bears won their last 13 sets, dating back to Saturday, Oct. 12, when they fell in set four at Sacramento State.

Brynn Reines paced UNC with 10 kills and added three digs, one assist and an ace.

Syd Cole distributed 25 assists to six different attackers and dumped in four kills on six attempts, with three aces, three digs and a block.

Gabi Placide netted eight kills, three aces, three digs and three blocks. Maddie Davies and Alayna Tessena netted seven kills and three blocks each.

Annette Baker chipped in with five kills, while Isabel Bennett tallied four, with three blocks.

SET 1: Idaho burnt both timeouts as UNC built a 15-4 advantage. The Bears converted half of their attempts and held the Vandals to just eight kills.

SET 2: UNC's offensive production dipped to .360 but the defense held Idaho to seven kills and seven errors on 27 swings to grab the 2-0 advantage at intermission.

SET 3: After not leading in the first two games, Idaho held 1-0 and 2-1 advantages in the final set. Knotted at 8-8, the Bears scored 17 of the final 25 points for the sweep.
