GREELEY, Colo. – Cam Chapa and Darrell Bryant Jr. tallied 12 tackles each for Northern Colorado against No. 9 Montana at Nottingham Field Saturday.

Chapa matched his season high with seven solo tackles and five assisted tackles, while Bryant set a season-best assisting on eight.

UNC allowed 14 points off three interceptions and suffered a hard-fought 24-0 setback against the Grizzlies.

The Bears drove into Montana territory on 5 of 9 drives, with another drive stalling at midfield. They crossed the 50-yard line on three of their first four drives, with two interceptions and a punt. Their best scoring opportunity in the opening 30 minutes ended at the Grizzlies' 3-yard line, when a Kia'i Keone pass deflected off an intended receiver and into the waiting arms of a Montana defender.

UNC went 30 yards on five plays and crossed into Grizzlies territory on its first offensive opportunity in the second half. Montana picked off a Keone pass at the 13, stopping another drive. The Bears went 72 yards on 13 plays the next time they had the ball before the drive stalled on downs at the Grizzlies 3-yard line.

Jacquez Robertson led the ground attack for UNC with 28 yards on 32 carries. David Afari toted the rock seven times for 22 yards and added 34 receiving yards on two receptions. Darius Stewart netted 14 yards on three rushes.

Keone completed 15 of 31 attempts to eight different receivers, with three interceptions for 159 yards.

Cash Cheeks hauled in 4 of 5 passes thrown his way for 38 yards. Brayden Munroe tallied 22 yards on three receptions, while Tama Tuitele caught the lone pass in his direction for 23 yards.
