PORTLAND, Ore. – Northern Colorado (12-5, 3-1) remained undefeated on the road with a sweep of (25-21, 25-22, 25-19) Portland State (3-12, 2-2) Thursday at Viking Pavilion.

"We did some good things tonight but we definitely shot ourselves in the foot at the service line," head coach Lyndsey Oates said. "I'm curious how good we could have been if we had not committed 15 unforced errors."

The Bears held Portland State to a season-low .086 hitting percentage by an opponent this season.

Syd Cole dropped a double-double with 28 assists, 12 digs, and two kills and one solo block.

Gabi Placide paced UNC with 15 kills, adding seven digs and two blocks. Isabel Bennett netted seven kills and two blocks. Maddie Davies and Alayna Tessena each had seven kills, Davies recording five blocks and Tessena added three.

"Gabby put up good numbers tonight," Oates said. "She had a really big arm and we want to continue to develop that."

Brynn Reines put away five swings, while Sam Steele donned the libero jersey and registered 14 digs.
