Bears Head to California for a Pair of Duals

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado (7-1, 0-1 Big 12) heads to California for a pair of duals Friday and Saturday.
The Bears face Cal Poly in a non-conference affair Friday at 8 p.m., before taking on Big 12 foe California Baptist Saturday at 4 p.m.
Following its final tournament until the Big 12 Championship, UNC looks to carry momentum from the Southern Scuffle into the second half of the season. The Bears recorded two individual titles, with seven of the 15 wrestlers placing and helping the team to a fifth-place finish out of 21 teams.
Stevo Poulin went 4-0, including a 6-5 victory over No.2 Nico Provo (Stanford) in the title bout. Vincent Zerban won all five of his matches on his way to his second tournament title this season. He knocked off No. 6 Daniel Cardenas with a thrilling 8-5 sudden victory in the finale.
Cal Poly placed 13th in the Kraft Midlands Championships Dec. 29-30, the last time the Mustangs competed. California Baptist fell to No. 5 Iowa State in its latest competition.
