2024-25 / JUNIOR:
Season: Serrano stayed undefeated at home and went 18-2 overall… He recorded one pin, one tech fall, and five major decision wins… Serrano became the Big XII Champion at 133 pounds for the first time in his career… Serrano qualified for his second NCAA Championships and was the fifth seed at 133 pounds… Serrano was selected as a NWCA Scholar All-American.
Missouri (11/02): Serrano opened the season with a 15-5 major decision win over Kade Moore. Drexel (11/15): Serrano won by major decision over Kyle Waterman, 15-7. Pennsylvania (11/16): Serrano won by decision over Alex Almeyda, 15-7. Cougar Clash (12/07): Serrano went undefeated and took home first place at 133 pounds. Southern Scuffle (01/04-05): Serrano went 5-1 and took home second place overall at 133 pounds. Wyoming (01/10): Serrano won by major decision over Stockton O’Brien, 11-1. CSU Bakersfield (01/10): Serrano won by tech fall over Santino Sanchez, 19-3. Arizona State (02/02): Serrano won by decision over Julian Chlebove, 4-2. South Dakota State (02/07): Serrano won by decision over Derrick Cardinal, 8-2. Utah Valley (02/14): Serrano won by decision over Kase Mauger, 8-2. Wyoming (02/16): Serrano won by pin over Stockton O’Brien. Air Force (02/23): Serrano won by major decision over Gavin Caprella, 15-2. 2025 Big XII Championships (03/08-09): Serrano went undefeated and became the 133 pound Big XII Champion.
2023-24 / SOPHOMORE:
Season: Serrano returned to Greeley, Colorado for his Sophomore year… Serrano went 27-6 with one pin, one tech fall, and three major decisions… Serrano opened his UNC career vs Fort Hays State where he won by pin over his opponent… Serrano went undefeated at home… Serrano took home third place at the Big XII Championships and qualified for his first NCAA Championships.
Fort Hays State (11/03): Serrano won by pin over Kevin Honas. New Mexico Highlands (11/03): Serrano won by forfeit. Presbyterian College (11/17): Serrano won by tech fall over Brayden Adams, 19-4. Buffalo (11/17): Serrano won by tech fall over Tommy Maddox, 24-6. Black Knight Invitational (11/19): Serrano went 4-1 at the tournament and took home fifth place. He recorded one sudden victory win, two tech falls, and one win by decision. Cougar Clash (12/02): Serrano went 3-0 and took home first place. West Virginia (12/10): Serrano won by tech fall over Davin Rhoads, 19-4. North Idaho College (12/17): Serrano won by major decision over Zach Lopez, 18-7. Southern Scuffle (01/01-02): Serrano went 4-1 and took home second place at 133 pounds. California Baptist (01/13): Serrano won by major decision over Hunter Leake, 16-6. South Dakota State (01/19): Serrano won by decision over Derrick Cardinal. North Dakota State (01/21): Serrano won by decision over Fernando Barreto. Wyoming (01/26): Serrano won by major decision over Garrett Ricks, 14-6. Utah Valley (02/10): Serrano won by major decision over Kase Mauger, 12-4. Air Force (02/18): Serrano won by tech fall over Bubba Wright, 23-5. 2024 Big XII Championships (03/09-10): Serrano went 4-3 at the tournament and took home third place overall at 133 pounds.
2020-22 / PRIOR TO UNC:
While Serrano was at Nebraska, he compiled a 13-13 overall record… He had four pins, one tech fall, and three major decisions… Serrano made his Nebraska debut at the Indiana Triangular against Michigan State… Serrano was awarded with the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and Academic All-Big Ten during his freshman season.
HIGH SCHOOL / PERSONAL:
Serrano compiled a 168-0 overall record in high school with 122 victories by fall… Serrano is a four-time Colorado state champion, a Junior National Freestyle Champion, and Cadet National Freestyle Champion… Serrano was a 2020 Wrestling USA Dream Team Scholastic All-American, 2020 Amateur Wrestling News Second Team All-American, and 202 Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine Wrestler of the Year in Colorado.
One of Serrano’s favorite sports moments was when he won the Big XII Championships at 133 pounds… In his free time, Serrano enjoys running, window cleaning, coaching, and exploring the world… Serrano’s goal is to be a National Champion… Serrano chose UNC because he is from Greeley, and he loves the culture and the coaching staff.
