Bears Earn a Draw at North Dakota

Grand Forks, N.D. – University of Northern Colorado earned a scoreless draw against North Dakota at Bronson Field Thursday.
Northern Colorado moved to 0-6-1 on the campaign, while the Fighting Hawks moved to 3-2-2.
The Bears started out aggressive with Lauren Fuller hitting the crossbar in the fourth minute. Lexi Tuite also chipped in with two shots in the first half but was unable to find the back of the net. The teams went to the half tied at zero, courtesy of a pair of saves by Kaya Lindberg.
The second half was a defensive battle between the two former Big Sky foes. UNC recorded three shots after halftime but neither side registered a shot on goal over the final 45 minutes.
FROM THE COACH:
"Obviously not the result we wanted," UNC Head Coach Tim Barrera said. "I thought we defended well. We had several opportunities; we need to find a way to create a few more and convert when we have them. Overall, I thought it was a good effort."
UNC NOTES
· Tuite and Fuller registered two shots each.
· Brooke Holmberg and Rachel Mortensen each tallied a shot for Northern Colorado.
· Fuller registered a shot on goal for the Bears.
· Lindberg had four saves in the match, notching her first clean sheet of the campaign.

· The Fighting Hawks outshot the Bears, 9-6.
· UNC committed eight fouls, while inducing 11 by the Fighting Hawks.
· The Bears earned four corner kicks and limited North Dakota to three.
· UNC now holds a 4-0-2 record all-time on the road against the Fighting Hawks.
